Don't forget your laser pointer for pointing out hard to see objects in the distance or in the dark.

LaserLyte 500 Yard Laser Pointer

Super Sonic Ear - Listening Device

You can listen to the animals while you relax around the camp fire or while you are walking.  Hand held, you could also arrange it to mount on your back pack or to your belt.  It could also mount to an object in your soundings.  The only limit is the length of the ear phone wire from the headset to the device. Is considered a child's toy but for $20.00, it should be a great asset to any outdoor project.

Garmin E-Trex GPS - small enough to fit in the palm of your hand - small price

Having a GPS in the field is a must if you want to not get lost, be able to track your object, and then note their exact location for a later date and time.  It is valuable in pinpointing incidents and happenings for your records.  Noting your location when you hear sounds, see footprints or catch a glimpse of the elusive creature.  It also allows you to record direction the Bigfoot takes when it leaves the area.  Helps you to be able to radio for help in an emergency or to let someone know where you are if you are late returning.  See more GPS choices below.

Vivatar 35mm Camera Package and Binoculars

Cameras are important to document your research.  Digital camera's are the best because of the ease in carrying the floppy disc or memory card as opposed to film, which can be ruined by mother nature.  A digital camera is almost the one piece of equipment that you can't go without.

A video camera is almost as important.  However, again, the video tapes take up a lot of room. There are cameras out there that record to a chip rather than a disc.  The chips are expensive but hold more than a disc.  If cost is a consideration, choose the disc type camera which will save a lot of money.  If space is the consideration, it would take about 6 disc to fill up one chip.  One chip costs about $100.00.  The disc only cost pennies compared to that.   By all means, don't scrimp in this department. Both type of cameras are valuable.

Bring plenty of tapes and discs, or film.  Do not record over recorded tapes until you have had a chance to get back to civilization and go over the contents of the tapes.  You might be erasing valuable info that is not retrievable.  To locate more camera choices use Key Word on the search box: cameras, video cameras, digital cameras.
